I disagree.

The first day is the easiest. It is the day that is mostly style over substance. Symbolism over sincerity. Ritual over habit.

No, the first day is not the toughest. In the long-run, it is the one that results matter least.

The toughest day is the next day. It can be day 2, 3, 4, or 500. Whatever the number, the next day is the toughest day.

This is when you prove commitment. This is where you show you are paying attention, managing time, and learning from the day before.

The next day is the toughest.

But it is also the most promising.
