Better Or Worse

Stable.

Steady.

Constant.

Consistent.

These descriptors are better when used to address effort and reliability. They are not special. They describe a basic requirement: to show up on time prepared to contribute.

Reliability and effort are important, but only when directed towards what matters. So, what matters?

Each team has their own specific metrics to answer that question. However, in the most general terms, what matters is improvement, getting better - however your metrics define that.

Each decision, action, and investment ultimately has an outcome. That outcome will be evaluated. It will either advance your purpose, get you closer your strategic vision, or it won't.

Your team is always either getting better or worse.

Either way, you are always learning.
